Versatile Video Coding (VVC)

Fraunhofer HHI offers an optimized open source VVC / H.266 encoder software (VVenC) and VVC decoder software (VVdeC). VVenC is perfectly suited for fast encoding on cloud-based platforms for adaptive multi-resolution streaming and web browser playback. It demonstrates significant bit-rate reductions over HEVC / H.265 for SD to HDR UHD video.
